What is Capacity Max?
Capacity Max is a digital private two-way radio system that offers technological innovation to deliver a scalable voice and data communications solution that is specifically tailored for your organization. The Capacity Max System Server (CMSS), provides advanced digital trunking which enhances signaling and traffic routing to make the most efficient use of the network’s bandwidth, minimizing cost and maximizing performance.Â
With a dedicated control channel at every site, the system offers a crisp, responsive user experience with robust performance during peak access and rapid, smooth roaming across sites, ensuring a clean and clear channel. Â
With Cap Max you can be confident you are choosing an advanced technology that that protects critical voice and data communications and prioritizes security, with options for authentication, access control, and encryption. Â
A single control console provides complete control of system configuration, monitor faults and performance management, plus over-the-air programming ensures that you can reach every radio without disrupting operations.Â
Just How Big Is Cap Max?
Cap Max offers smooth scalability making it easy for you to expand your system as needs require. The system can support up to 750 sites and up to 3,000 radio users per site and up to 45,000 radios on the system. Each site can accommodate up to 29 voice/data channels or talk-groups, plus an additional 12 dedicated data channels. Â
Capacity Max shares many of the vital components of other MOTOTRBO™ systems, making it an ideal migration platform from IP Site Connect or Capacity Plus, and a wide selection of MOTOTRBO radios can also programmed to the system, allowing you to customize your system to provide the right radio for the right worker. Â
What about Management and Control?
Capacity Max’s system management software is a user–friendly application that provides you control of the system’s infrastructure, devices and talk groups. Organized in logical pathways to make you more efficient and effective, you can optimize the system’s performance, monitor alarms and faults, and the management software will even help you to create radio code plugs. Updating is easier too, with Over-The-Air (OTA) processes for pushing out software and firmware patches to the system server, infrastructure, and radios.Â

If high resiliency and security are a concern you can count on Cap Max. Capacity Max offers many layers of redundancy, minimizing the risk of a single failure bringing your system down. With the opportunity to deploy redundant system servers, IP switches, and repeaters you can safe-guard the resiliency of the system. And an additional second control channel can be allocated per site, ensuring system availability. Â
Security is a priority throughout the Cap Max system with encrypted voice and data, plus all radios are securely authenticated to protect your communications. If a radio is misplaced or stolen you can even remotely disable and re-enable the device to prevent unauthorized access to the system.Â
