In-Building

Wireless Coverage Solutions

At Radio One/CSE Crosscom we design, deploy and maintain wireless coverage solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Our indoor cellular Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) put an end to dead zones and provide clear and reliable wireless coverage for voice, video and data applications.  Similarly, by working with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), our Public Safety DAS installations meet or exceed local mandates to keep buildings compliant and ensure reliable two-way radio coverage for first responders.

Radio One/CSE Crosscom also designs, deploys, monitors and maintains a variety of wireless networking solutions to meet customers’ high-bandwidth requirements for commercial voice, video and data applications. By leveraging the latest technologies available, including Wi-Fi, PTP/PTMP, WLAN and private LTE solutions, Radio One/CSE Crosscom’s system engineers help customers solve their most challenging wide-area coverage requirements.

Public Safety Distributed Antenna Systems

As your source for seamless connectivity for over 30 years, Radio One/CSE Crosscom has engineered, installed and maintained multiple Emergency Responder Communications Enhancement Systems (ERCES), also known as Public Safety – Distributed Antenna Systems (PS-DAS), for both public and private facilities.  Additionally, Radio One/CSE Crosscom has extensive experience in designing and installing In-Building Cellular-DAS solutions to enhance carrier coverage.

Why Is Public Safety – DAS important?

Local mandates established by the FCC with oversight by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) and International Fire Code (IFC) require facilities to be complaint in providing first responders with ample two-way radio coverage for communications within an emergency situation such as fire, security threat, natural disaster, and more. Comprehensive wireless two-way radio (RF) coverage even needs to extend to basements, stairwells, electrical closets, elevator shafts, parking garages and more.

How Can You Be Code Compliant?

Municipalities are enforcing code compliance through the local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), such as your local Fire Marshall to ensure your Emergency Responder Communications Enhancement Systems (ERCES) provides first responders’ safety and communication in the case of an emergency.  To maintain your building’s certificate of occupancy, your Public Safety-DAS must be inspected and tested annually to guarantee functionality during critical times. At Radio One, we can take the guesswork out of working with your AHJ and keeping your system complaint by providing an annual service inspection, and, when necessary; system upgrades to meet or exceed the AHJ’s mandates.

How does a Public Safety BDA-DAS work?

Bi-Directional Amplifiers, also known as BDAs, are signal boosters that support two-way radio and cellular communications throughout a facility – improving communication in challenging areas that might not otherwise receive a wireless signal. BDAs are amplifiers/repeaters that boost and distribute a signal covering various frequencies. BDAs are traditionally part of a Distributed Antenna System (DAS). The DAS is a network of antennas that receive external signals.  These signals are internally distributed on a common cable or fiber transport that distributes the signal to the BDAs to amplify the RF or cellular signals. Collectively, BDA/DAS equipment is often referred to as wireless in-building solutions.

Does Your Operational-Critical Radio Coverage Need to be Enhanced?

Installing BDAs are not only beneficial for First Responders in an emergency, but operational- critical two-way radio coverage can also improve productivity and safety for work teams such as maintenance, engineering, operations and security. If these work teams are experiencing similar loss of coverage or connectivity challenges in hard-to-reach coverage areas with their two-way radios, consider enhancing your UHF-VHF frequencies.

What’s the Difference between Public Safety DAS and Cellular-DAS?

These two systems are unique and cannot support one another. By necessity, the Public Safety-DAS needs to operate independently of a Cellular-DAS.

The Radio One/CSE Crosscom Advantage

From Public Safety-DAS to Cellular-DAS, Radio One/CSE Crosscom has extensive experience deploying in-building wireless systems to meet nearly any operating condition. As nearly every BDA solution is unique, we custom design each system to meet the specifications of each environment and its users.  We work with the industry’s leading manufacturers of bi-directional amplifiers and distributed antenna systems from companies such as Cobham, Tessco, and Westell to fit your budget and extend your coverage and range.
