Understanding the Distinction
Between ERRCS vs. ERCES
Radio One Your Trusted Resource for Public Safety-DAS
New mandates are being instituted by AHJ’s across the country, as well as Florida to broaden the codes related to provisions surrounding Public Safety – Distributed Antenna Systems to include Emergency Responder Communications Enhancement Systems (ERCES). The distinction is to broaden the code behind Emergency Responder Radio Communication System (ERRCS) to include all First Responder communication devices including those devices that may operate on a cellular network, such as FirstNet or other devices, as required by the Florida Fire Prevention Code (NFPA 1).
